Sarah Jessica Parker, or SJP, quickly became an icon for all things trendy and fashionable with her role in Sex and the City. And when I was growing up, if you asked me what I wanted to be I would have to answer you with a ‘I would like to be as beautiful as Sarah Jessica Parker’.
From Mr Big to big hairstyles, Sarah Jessica Parker has gone through a metamorphosis of hairstyles throughout her acting career; some absolute winners and a few that might have missed the mark slightly. From her fashionably famous role as Carrie from the TV series Sex and the City, we have watched our ‘it’ girl go from awfully awkward to absolutely glamorous, playing to her strengths and underplaying her ‘weaknesses’.

SJP has a fairly long face and needs to be aware of this when choosing a style to suit her but having said that, she very rarely gets it wrong.
The Up Do – This elegant up do highlights her finest features, from her beautiful bone structure and flawless skin, to the magnificent mane of hair

Naturally finger styled waves – I have always loved her more understated look, like this soft flowing style with a natural wave. The lowlights also add to the dramatic yet sophisticated look
Lowlights with bangs – Even as she gets older, there’s no denying the classic beauty that Sarah Jessica Parker is. Even this ‘severely’ straightened look is softened by the lighter colors closest to her face.

The casual bob – Possibly not everyone’s cup of tea, I loved the bob she sported for a while. I’m not sure why but it just softened her look overall and gave her the ‘girl next door’ look.
A sophisticated up do with a floral accessory – A look that probably inspired a million bridal looks – the gorgeous up do with the flower – is beautiful in its simplicity and an absolute showstopper. This hairstyle was one of the very few that made me wish I had longer hair.

Soft wavy look – As far as hairstyles from Sex and the City go this has got to be a firm favourite. It’s not overworked or overdone, leaving her looking more SJP, the queen, rather than Priscilla queen of the desert.

The SJP Up Do – SJP has an effortless look about her that has most women wishing they were more like her, and a lot of men wishing their partners were more like her too. This is a hairstyle with effortless ease and can take you from the play park to cocktail dinner.

Regular treatments to nourish and restore – There is a softness that this pretty style brings to Sarah Jessica’s face – and we absolutely love it. Once again it’s not overworked or over styled: just enough attention to make it stand out from the crowd.
Natural and flowing – Another flowing style that frames the A list celebrity’s gorgeous face and softens what could easily be features that are too strong.

Casual but elegant, with hair tied back and loose bits framing her face – Oh Sarah Jessica Parker, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love it when your hair’s tied up out of your face, I love it when it’s swept up but I love it most when your curls frame your face, showing off your very best features.
